Candles On Thermal Water With Sunshine

The Prayer for Today

Message from the Principal

Mission Day

Each year our Year 6 class coordinates Mission Day as part of their Evangelisation Project. Children engaged in a wide variety of games and activities as well as being able to purchase food and some items from the white elephant stall. Thank you to the P&F for providing a sausage sizzle and juice box. We raised over $1000 and all money raised from the day will be donated to Catholic Mission. Catholic Mission contributes funding and provides support to critical church-run activities in Africa, Asia, South America as well as remote Dioceses within Australia.

Students had a wonderful time dancing at the school disco last Friday evening. It was great to see all the children expressing themselves with many interesting dance moves. A big thank you to our P&F for organising and running the event which was very well attended.

This Friday at 2:15pm sharp, on the courts, is the Edu-Dance concert. Parents are welcome to attend.

Interschool Athletics Carnival

Well done to all our Year 3-6 students who took part in the Interschool Athletics Carnival. Our girls placed first, boys placed fourth and overall OLGC came in second place, which is a great result by all our students. Well done to Michael and Maddison in Year 5 for breaking the Year 5 Turbo Javelin records. Thank you to Mrs Goode for her preparation of the students and to Mrs Northcott, Mrs Lilford and Mr Carter for assisting on the day. A big thank you to our parent volunteers who gave up their time to assist on the day, your help is very much appreciated.

After what has been a very busy term, I am sure parents and children are looking forward to a holiday break.  I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday and that the children return rested and ready for term four which commences on Tuesday 12th October.

God Bless

Nic Gaglia

We have a couple of items in the office ready to go to their owners:

  • A goldtone chain /pearl necklace
  • A denim jacket - from the Disco night

If you think either are yours - please come and collect from the office.

Many thanks,

We hope you’re ready to be completely coloured, as you battle the obstacle course of colour with a few extra surprises!

You will also have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for your chance to colour a teacher or two, or even Mr Gaglia!

This event is sure to be filled with fun, laughter and good times while helping to raise funds for our school community.

This event has raised funds in the past to help build our awesome Nature Play area and to repair the grass on the school oval.

This year the 2021 “Colour our Counsel” will be even bigger and better with money raised going towards several projects that will transform the OLGC common areas.

“Colour our Counsel” will be held on Friday 5th November 2021 at Prisk Reserve from 1.30pm.

We would love for the whole school, including our Kindy and Pre-Primary kids to get involved with courses specifically for the younger ones too.

Further information will be sent out next term with more details on raffles, prizes, etc

The OLGC P&F is a fantastic committee to be part of. Together we work to build community spirit within OLGC, developing events, fundraising initiatives, and helping to support projects at OLGC.

Being a member of the OLGC P&F is a great way to meet other parents and be involved with our school community. Meetings are held once a month in the evening throughout the school term either in the school staff room at OLGC or virtually via Microsoft Teams.

We are always excited to have new members come on board with new ideas.  If you are interested or would like to know more, please speak to one of the members or Mr Gaglia and look out for nomination forms in October from the front office.

Dear Families,

We are excited to announce that we are fundraising with the Entertainment Memberships.

Entertainment Memberships have thousands of up to 50% off and 2 for 1 offers for dining,

takeaway, activities, local shopping, travel and services in our local area.

Entertainment is now 100% digital, so it’s the best things about the iconic

Entertainment Book on your phone.

Get out and about and support your local community at the same time.

We appreciate your support in helping our school raise much needed funds.

The OLGC P&F is now on Facebook!!

As a way of keeping up with communication, a page has been created for members of the OLGC Community – please look for OLGC KARRINYUP P&F and request to join. All correspondence will be a duplication of what is already in the newsletter so you won’t miss out on anything.
