Before & After School Care

DISCOVERY KIDS is an onsite Before and After School Child Care Service that is offered to OLGC families. The organisation is unique in such a way that it is owned and run by qualified, experienced teachers and Child Care workers. Throughout the service we will aim to enhance learning and social interaction. The program runs Mon-Thurs 7-9am and 2.30-6pm, in the school hall.

Discovery Kids is a fully licenced, Before and After School Child Care provider.

Our Child Care Philosophy is based on developing a Lifetime Love of Learning. Central to this philosophy is the belief that secure relationships with responsive and respectful adults provide the basis for all learning. With these relationships in place, children develop a capacity for trust, competence and independence that helps them grow as students and people. Our Child Care program aims to support their increasing interest in sports, art, music and more, both before and after school.

The service provides a balance of organised and self-selected activities, all in a positive, supportive atmosphere, whether relaxing, doing homework or having fun with friends. You will have peace of mind knowing your child is safe and having fun. Working alongside the dedicated teachers of OLGC, means that the children attending the Child Care are empowered to acquire the skills they need to become responsible members of their community, creative problem-solvers and lifelong learners.

Costs are as follows, and work on block times:

Before School Child Care 7.00-9.00 am $25 (breakfast provided)

After School Child Care 2.45-6.00 pm $35 (afternoon tea provided)

The Australian Government provides financial assistance to reduce the cost of child care for families. The Child Care Benefit scheme is available to those who are eligible.
